Warranty

1. WARRANTY.

Ceed Ltd (the “Company”) warrants on the following terms that for the “Warranty Period” the Product shall (a) conform in all material respects with its description; (b) be free from material defects in design, material and workmanship; and (c) be fit for any purpose held out by the Company (the “Warranty”).

The Warranty Period is defined as 12 months from the date of purchase. Warranty is applicable for direct sales & purchases through our official resellers. 

2. SCOPE OF COVERAGE.

2.1. Subject to the terms of this warranty, if:

  • you (the “Customer”) give notice in writing to the company during the Warranty Period within a reasonable time of discovery that some or all the Product does not comply with the Warranty; and

  • you provide proof of purchase and the date of acceptance of the Product; and

  • the Company is given a reasonable opportunity of examining the Product; and

  • the Customer (if asked to do so by the Company) returns the Product to the Company at the Customer’s own cost; and

  • the Company (acting reasonably) agrees that

  • some or all of the Product does not comply with the Warranty,

then the Company shall, at its option, repair, replace the defective Product, or refund the amount paid by you for the Product or part thereof.

2.2. This warranty only covers defects in material, design and workmanship of the hardware components of the Product as originally supplied.

2.3. Minor imperfections within design specifications that do not materially alter the functionality of the Product are not considered a defect under this warranty.

2.4. The information included with the Product may provide a specific website address for the warranty information, in which case the warranty for the Product is as stated at that website address and such information shall supersede the terms of this warranty.

2.5. Whilst the battery is considered a consumable item (as referred to in Section 3.2.) the Company will replace the battery if it fails to retain 50% of its original capacity within the Warranty Period. 

2.6. The Company will replace any screen with more than:

  • 0 bright or dark lines
  • 2 full bright pixels
  • 2 full dark pixels
  • 5 single or double, bright or dark sub-pixels
  • Defects per million pixels. There is a zero-tolerance policy for dark or bright lines on screen upon arrival.

2.7. By making a claim under this warranty, the Customer agrees to waive any claim(s) for compensation, monetary or otherwise, which you may be entitled to in respect of the Product other than that provided under this warranty, if any.

3. ITEMS NOT COVERED.

3.1. The Company shall not be liable for failure to comply with the Warranty if the defect arises as a result of any of the following:

  • cosmetic damage;

  • deterioration due to normal wear and tear;

  • wilful damage or negligence;

  • unauthorised, improper, or abnormal storage or operation of the Product;

  • electrical surges, adverse weather conditions, spills, water damage, fire and/or heat damage;

  • failure to follow the Company’s oral or written instructions for the storage, commissioning, installation, use and maintenance of the Product or (if there are none) good trade practice regarding the same;

  • unauthorised alterations or repairs to the Product; or

  • the Product differs from its description as a result of changes made to the Product to ensure the Product complies with applicable statutory or regulatory requirements.

3.2. This warranty does not cover any software, consumable items, or accessories even if packaged or sold together with the Product. For details on any user rights with respect to software, please refer to licensing agreements accompanying such software.

3.3. This warranty does not cover problems arising from general maintenance, password resets, routine servicing and cleaning, updating/upgrading of software, installation of software or applications, product demonstration, or any other service other than repair.

4. HOW TO OBTAIN SERVICES.

4.1. Prior to making a claim under this warranty, please follow the procedures outlined in the product manual for problem determination, or log on to https://pi-top.com/support for a list of Self Help answers for simple troubleshooting.

5. WHAT CEED LTD WILL DO.

5.1. If you consider that the Product which you have purchased is not of acceptable quality, has a latent defect, or is otherwise not compliant with any warranties or legal rights given to you under the law, you must give notice to the Company of the alleged defects promptly upon discovery.

5.2. The Company may conduct diagnostic tests on the Product to determine the cause of failure / defect. The Company’s decision on all claims, including without limitation whether there is a defect in the Product, the cause of failure / defect, validity of the warranty, and what remedy is to be provided, shall be conclusive and the Customer shall agree to abide by such decision.

5.3. Products with valid warranty subsisting upon repair or replacement continue to be under warranty for the remainder of its Warranty Period, or for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of completion of repair or replacement, whichever is longer.

5.4. The Company may, at its sole discretion, agree to repair a Product when the Warranty Period has expired (an “Out of Warranty Product”), on the condition that the Customer pays an appropriate service fee for the repair. Repairs on Out of Warranty Products carry a one month warranty period from the date of completion of service for the: (a) parts repaired / replaced, and (b) same fault for which the repair was conducted. Repair or replacement may involve the use of functionally equivalent refurbished or reconditioned products or parts.

5.5. Any replaced product or part, or fully refunded product, shall become the absolute property of the Company and must be returned to the Company.

6. WHAT CEED LTD WILL NOT DO.

6.1. Except where otherwise expressly provided, the terms and conditions of this warranty are contained exclusively herein, and no other agreement, provision or statement, regardless of the origin of the same, shall be accepted as extending, adding to, subtracting from or otherwise altering the terms of this warranty.

6.2. In no event shall any recovery against the Company exceed the actual price paid for the purchase of the Product.

6.3. Before handing over the Product for repair, it is your responsibility to secure and / or back-up or remove any programs, data or other material stored in the Product, and to delete any confidential or personal information contained in the Product. The Company assumes no responsibility for any loss, damage, destruction, alteration or failure to maintain confidentiality of programs, data, information or other material left in the Product when it is returned to the Company, howsoever caused, whether during servicing of the Product, through use of synchronisation software for the Product, or otherwise.

6.4. It is your responsibility to remove any accessories, external parts or other attachments to the Product (“Accessories”) prior to handing in the Product for servicing. The Company shall not be liable for any loss, damage or destruction to any such Accessories which are not removed.

6.5. For the avoidance of doubt, the Company shall not in any way be liable under this warranty to repair, replace or refund any Product which the Company may, at its sole discretion, decide as being “Out of Warranty” due to breach of the warranty terms, invalidation of the warranty, expiry of the Warranty Period, or other reasons.
