Learn how to create a School, where you can manage classes, students and lessons.
Why should I use Schools?
Access premium content: Schools are how you get access to premium lessons and courses, it is also how your students get access to premium lessons also.
Manage your students: Schools allow you to easily keep track of all your students as well as do things like resetting their password and moving them to new classes.
Add other teachers: By adding another teacher to your school you give them access to create their own classes using all the premium content you've purchased as well.
What do I need to do first?
Sign up as a Teacher: Before creating a school you must sign up or log in and choose to be a "Teacher" user.
Where to Add Schools From
You can add schools from the Dashboard tab using the Add School button in the top right of the Schools section.
Adding Schools Options:
Clicking the "Add School" button opens a dialog with two tabs, each with a different option for creating your school:
- US School Search: Use this option to pick your School from a database of US based schools.
- Custom Name: Use this option if you are not a US based school and you want to use Schools features for teaching.
Searching for a US School
Search for Your District: Click into the Search for District search bar and type your district's name, we'll search for you district and give you some options in the list. Choose your district from the list by clicking on it.
Search for Your School: Click into the Search for School search bar, some options should already be available but for larger districts you may need to type your school's name to find your school. Choose your school from the list by clicking on it.
Click the Confirm button: Once you have chosen your school click the Confirm button at the bottom of the dialog, you will be redirected to your school's page when we've successfully created your school.
It says my School already exists?: If your school has already been created on Further we won't be able it again, instead you should ask your school admin to give your access on Further. If you think someone who is not a part of your school has created the school please contact support.
Adding with a Custom Name
Choose your School Name: Click the Custom Name tab if you haven't done so already, then click into the School Name input and type your school's name.
Click the Confirm button: Once you have typed your school's name you can click the Confirm button at the bottom of the dialog, you will be redirected to your school's page when we've successfully created your school.
